Anthony Joshua mocks Deontay Wilder’s windmill style of throwing punches

The unified WBA, IBO and IBF world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua proven he successfully comes through his upcoming unification showdown against WBO world champion Joseph Parker.

Seems to be on a collision course with the undefeated WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder who moved to 40-0 last weekend.

Joshua was pressed to compare the styles of the differing champions. Joshua shared he believes that the New Zealander WBO titleholder is a ‘more clinical’ fighter in comparison to his American Alabama native counterpart.

“More clinical. Wilder throws windmills;” Joshua said.

“When he throws his shots with a left and a right, if the left don’t hit you.”

“The right catches you as you are moving in and knocks the majority of his opponents out.”

Shifting the focus of the conversation back on March 31st.

Joshua shared he feels no desire to toot his own horn ahead of their fight and prefers to stick with the conserved, humble approach he has donned since the beginning of his fighting days.

“I can’t sit here and talk as if I’m the hardest puncher, I’m the best athlete, and then go and fight Joe Bloggs that no-one has heard of, with 50 losses on his record,”

“He took this challenge as an undefeated fighter and so did I. The respect is 50-50.”

Joshua also touched on what he believes are similarities with his own makeup and that of the man he will face on March 31st at The Principality Stadium.

“His upbringing, you know spiritual people, solid people, same as my family, spiritual, solid, born in Africa.

“Came here for a better future, so I know how that goes, and struggled, so I know how that goes.”

“Worked hard, and that’s why I see him as one of the lions in the jungle. There is a lot of underlying desire in myself and him as well, I’m sure, and that’s why I see that lion in him.

“He wants to fight and get it on. He’s a champion and no-one gets to this point for no reason;” Joshua concluded.
