Dillian Whyte tells AJ – “we could get it on next”

Dillian Whyte is currently continuing his descent towards a world title opportunity. First up for the Brixton slugger, however, is the small matter of Australia’s Lucas Browne.

Browne and Whyte will clash on March 24th at London’s 02 Arena.

Whyte currently holds the WBC ‘international’ heavyweight title. But ‘The Bodysnatcher’ is desperate for a shot at the elite in his domain and is prepared for a clash with either Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua.

“Wilder or Joshua, whoever ends up making sense,” Whyte exclusively told Sky Sports.

“Ideally we would like to fight Wilder next. Win that and go into the Joshua fight as the champion.

“But if AJ is sensible about a good deal, we could get it on next.”

“He knows, whenever me and him are in the ring, it’s going to be war,” said Whyte.

“I expect to fight him probably another three or four times in my career. It’s one of those fights that, if I fight him next and beat him, I’ll still fight him again.

“It’s a good fight and there (are) so much emotion and anger and rage in that fight,” Whyte added.

“I just enjoy fighting, whether it’s in front of one person, 10,000 or 100,000. A fight’s a fight to me. Everybody has got something they are good at doing.

“I’ve always been a fighter since I was a child and thank god I managed to make it work for me. I’m actually fighting regularly now and doing it the right way.”

Lastly, Whyte touched on the importance of his next clash. Whyte will go head-to-head with Australia’s Lucas Browne.

Browne is a former world heavyweight championship titleholder and both combatants will be putting up their undefeated records when they fight.

“Yeah, it’s massive,” said the 29-year-old.

“It’s a crucial fight in my career. It’s big for heavyweight boxing because this win will propel me into great things.”

Whyte believes he is very close to reaching his goal of becoming a headlining PPV star.

“That’s what we have worked for, for the past few years, become a stand-alone headliner and I’m close to doing it now.”

“I’ll put on a good show, a good performance, this is it,” Whyte concluded.
