Fury vs. Eubank Sr Continues On Social Media, The Super Middleweight Great Explains His Original Comment

Chris Eubank’s comments about the former heavyweight world champion being an ‘apprentice’ definitely rubbed Tyson Fury the wrong way.

The former super middleweight champion said Fury only reached ‘apprenticeship position’ and then ‘imploded’.

“He had a fight, he won that fight and then he imploded. He only got to apprenticeship position, as far as I was concerned, and then he stopped learning. Everyone is talking about a fighter who speaks very well in terms of getting people’s attention, but he didn’t learn to fight,” told Eubank.

Fury went on social media and posted a video response to Eubank’s comments on talkSPORT.

Eubank then went on Twitter and explained why he said what he said.

Ever since gaining world heavyweight gold in boxing by beating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, Fury has felt disrespected and unappreciation for what he did.

Fury has gone through serious mental issues and depression because of the way he was treated publically. He’s even tried suicide reportedly at least four times according to his father John Fury.

In a tweet to Eubank, Fury wrote that it’s comments like Eubank’s that initially caused him to go off the rails and lose control.

Fury then threw a bit of fuel to the fire and explained what would happen if Eubank kept ‘persisting on this matter’.

Eubank and Steve Collins famously fought twice in 1995, first as champion, then as a challenger. On both occasions, the Brit failed to officially outpoint the Dubliner on foreign soil in Ireland.

While Eubank is officially inactive and focuses solely on mentoring his son Chris Jr, Collins is actually planning a comeback has agreed to a third fight against another old foe in Nigel Benn.
