According to RingTV.com, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (18-0, 17 KO’s) will most likely defend his IBF super featherweight title against Roman Martinez. The fight will take place on the undercard of Mayweather-McGregor.
Davis won his title back in January after defeating Jose Pedraza via technical knockout. He then defended his title against Liam Walsh in London and brutally decimated Walsh within 3 rounds. So far Davis has looked almost unstoppable in all of his fights and has even earned the nickname ‘Mini-Mike Tyson.’
Martinez(29-3-3), the expected opponent, hasn’t won since 2015 and is not ranked by any of the sanctioning bodies. He last fought against Vasyl Lomachenko and lost via knockout.
It’s safe to say that the stage is set for another brutal highlight Gervonta Davis knockout on August 26th.
