New Zealand’s WBO world heavyweight champion, Joseph Parker is confident that if he becomes the first man to take Anthony Joshua the distance this coming weekend and he is deserving of the win, he does not foresee any problems concerning any potential ‘home-cooking’ verdicts with the agenda of protecting the nation’s hugely popular poster boy, Anthony Joshua.
Parker, however, is unconcerned and if the fight does come down to scorecards, Parker believes he will get a fair shake.

If his last fight was anything to go by, Parker has already travelled to the UK and recorded a points decision victory against Hughie Fury.
“I’m not concerned, and the reason I say that is because we have good officials,” Parker said during a recent conference call.
Parker’s team has worked vigilantly to ensure impartial judges cover this weekend’s main event. Parker says this has allowed him to focus all of his attention on the fight.
“I trust my team has done a great job to get neutral officials. Like I said before, my focus is on the fight.”

“I wanna go out there and do my best, and whatever happens, happens.”
“But I trust the officials to do the right thing and, you know, give the right decision.”
Parker’s trainer, Kevin Barry also stressed that ever since contract negotiations begun for the unification fight it was crucial in their thinking to ensure an independent judging panel.
“It was very important for us when we were formulating this contract that we had independent, neutral judges,” Kevin Barry, Parker’s trainer, said.

“We have three judges – one from the United States, one from the UK and one from New Zealand. We have an Italian referee.”
“So we’re very happy with the names who have been put forward, and there’ll be no disputing the decision.
“We believe that we have fair, very experienced officials that will do a good job on Saturday, the 31st,” Kevin Barry concluded.
