Joseph Parker Not Scared Of Joshua’s Power – “I’ll Smile And Hit Him Back”

WBO World heavyweight champion Joseph Parker is already showing promising confidence before his big clash against the WBA super, IBF & IBO titleholder, Anthony Joshua.

The two heavyweights collide on March 31st in Cardiff and when considering the matchup and the stakes, one might expect a cautious brawl.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Parker claimed he isn’t worried about Joshua’s power and will smile back when he feels the first sting.

“If he hits me in the chin and doesn’t hurt me then obviously I’ll smile and try my best to hit him back,” said Parker.

Parker is relying on his strong chin and hopes to throw Joshua off mentally with his ability to take a punch better than most.

“I think some fighters when they throw a punch and throw everything they have and it doesn’t affect the other person, it might crush them a bit,” told Parker.Throughout the whole Joshua-Parker saga, the Kiwi has declared that he has never been dropped in a fight. The confident WBO champion told he has intentions to catch Joshua clean and knock him out.

“In boxing, some fighters have good chins. You just have to be persistent and continuing following the plan and trying to catch them nicely, and obviously hope to be knocking him out,” added Parker.

Parker has already visualised a situation in his head that should he drop Joshua the way Klitschko did, he will finish the job.

“I know that if I got him into the trouble (Wladimir) Klitschko got him into, I wouldn’t have let him off the pedal. I would put the pedal down and have chased him around.”

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is also playing somewhat of a part in Joshua-Parker.

There have been talks of Fury accompanying Parker to the ring on fight night at the Principality Stadium.

But Fury also recently offered to help Parker out as a sparring partner.

“If you want I’ll come spar you when you’re in UK training for the fight. It will help both me & you, you won’t find better sparring than me I promise you,” tweeted Fury to Parker.

The WBO World heavyweight champion has set up a training camp in Las Vegas so in reality Fury might have to fly to the U.S if Parker accepts his offer.
