Mikey Garcia is refusing to give in to the critics. Garcia has once again reaffirmed his desire to step up into his fifth weight class.

Garcia has already previously shared that he would like to emulate the blueprint left by Floyd Mayweather Jr in an effort to become the standout pound-for-pound fighter in world boxing.

Floyd Mayweather conquered world titles in the five weight classes ranging from Super featherweight to Jr middleweight.

Garcia shared that his next big target for his career will be to emulate that accomplishment and join the esteemed company like Mayweather, De La Hoya, Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns to name a few to have accomplished the rare feat.

“I will do five [weight divisions]. It’s gonna happen. I’m gonna be one of the ones to do it.”

“Not many fighters are capable of doing it, moving up in weight so much, but I’m not looking at it because I’m growing in size.”
