Spike O’Sullivan says Canelo clash looms for him next, Saunders vs Golovkin on the cards too

Spike O’Sullivan recently revealed that he will undoubtedly be Mexico’s Lineal world middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez’s next fight once he concludes the Gennady Golovkin saga on May 5th in Las Vegas.

Spike says he plans to catch that mammoth rematch in Las Vegas with his old rival, Billy Joe Saunders on May 5th.

Saunders is currently preparing for a domestic battle against Martin Murray which will take place at London’s 02 Arena.

‘BJS’ is coming off the finest performance of his career after whitewashing Canada’s fearsome puncher, David Lemieux in his last fight.

“Well, I know Billy Joe very well I had said to the media prior to the fight that he would win the fight against Lemieux and win it comprehensively and that’s how it turned out,” O’Sullivan exclusively told World Boxing News.

Spike went on to share his assertion that Saunders would triumph in battles against Canelo and Golovkin ‘nine times out of ten.’

“I believe he would beat Canelo and Golovkin too, probably nine of out ten times, he’s a special fighter.”

“He can beat both of them.”

“If I was going to the bookmakers and I got given ten grand and the only way I would get it back is by predicting correctly, I would put it on Billy,” he added.

Spike shared that while he will be looking to take on Canelo Alvarez. Spike believes Gennady Golovkin and Billy Joe Saunders are on their own collision course which could potentially be for all the marbles in the middleweight division.

“I’ve discussed that with Billy Joe, he believes he’s fighting Golovkin next regardless of the result as well.”

“He’s told me he’s going to be ringside for my fight on May 4th.

“We’re going to go along to observe the action between Canelo and Golovkin together.”

“He will be going for Golovkin whereas I’ll be rooting for Canelo because I’m going to be fighting him whereas Billy Joe will want Golovkin to win so he can unify the division.”
