Tony Bellew adamant he can defeat Tyson Fury – “I could embarrass him”

Tony Bellew will take on David Haye in their highly anticipated rematch on March 3rd. He is currently training hard ahead of his showdown at London’s 02 Arena.

Over the festive season, when it was announced that Fury was cleared to return to the ring. Both combatants engaged in a bitter back and forth on Sky television show, ‘Soccer AM’.

Fury and Bellew openly shared their intent in coming together for a lucrative showdown.

Fury has been out of the ring since November 2015, He dethroned the former lineal unified world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on that occasion.

Bellew has once again reaffirmed his desire to lock horns with Fury. Bellew wished ‘The Gypsy King’ all the best ahead of his task of returning to tip-top fighting shape. 

“He’s allowed to fight again and I wish Fury good luck.”

“Tyson Fury is a good guy and there’s a lot of idiots in this business.”

“I’d love to fight him. I’d love to be his first fight back.”

On the topic of how they will indeed match-up in a head to head, Bellew believes that he can triumph against the 6’9 behemoth and warned it could be ’embarrassing’.

“Do I think I can beat him? Absolutely, 100 percent,” Bellew told Metro.

“It’s risk and reward at this stage in my career and Tyson Fury will be looking at it exactly the same way.”

“Fury is coming back to boxing for the huge money fight.”

Bellew shared his belief that after an Anthony Joshua clash, he represents the biggest financial draw for Tyson Fury.

“There are only two events that will give Fury the mega-money he wants and that’s me versus him and him vs. [Anthony] Joshua.”

“I’m ready to face him in his first fight back, but I understand that could be risky. I could embarrass him,” Bellew concluded.
