Gennady Golovkin is currently scrambling to save his plans to fight in the near future.

He had put in months of effort and money into taking the necessary preparations for his highly anticipated rematch against Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

That fight, however, fell through when Alvarez tested positive for Clenbuterol on tests taken on February 17 and February 20.

Golovkin and his team are now working hard to ensure they carry out plans to have the Ukranian involved in his 39th professional engagement.

The president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman has shared that despite Golovkin’s best hopes to keep the May 5th date, Sulaiman shared that it looks unlikely at this point.
