Bet on Boxing Tonight Dickens V Cacace Odds & Tips

There is an exciting card in Dublin for St Patricks Day worth betting on? Boxing heads to The 3Arena in Dublin for a fight night full of World Title Fights. I spent some time researching the William Hill odds for Dickens vs. Cacace, Carroll vs. Murphy, and O’Leary vs. Hughes to find the best value to save you doing so.

Tonight’s “Dublin Takeover” for St Patricks Day is a Irish night of boxing for the fans. With a world title defence and two high-level IBO World title fights.

He is my personal expert analysis of the three biggest fights on the card.

1. Main Event: James Dickens vs. Anthony Cacace

WBA Super Featherweight World Title

William Hill have installed the challenger as the clear favourite, despite Dickens being the defending champion. The fight live on DAZN promoted by Frank Warren has Cacace as short as 4/11.

  • Anthony Cacace: 4/11
  • James Dickens: 2/1
  • Draw: 16/1

The Betting Angle: I think Cacace is in the form of his life, but “Jazza” Dickens is notoriously durable and technically sound. If like me, you believe Cacace’s power will be the difference, look for Cacace by KO/TKO. However, for those looking for an underdog, Dickens at 2/1 to win on points offers significant value given his championship experience to go the distance.

2. Co-Main: Pierce O’Leary vs. Maxi Hughes

For the Vacant IBO Super Lightweight Title

This is perhaps the most competitive fight on the card in Dublin. William Hill sees this as a classic “Youth vs. Experience” match and after some banter at the press conference anything is possible.

  • Pierce O’Leary: 1/2
  • Maxi Hughes: 6/4
  • Draw: 14/1

My betting opinion: I can’t look past the rising star O’Leary with “Big Bang” power, but Maxi Hughes is a master of the “spoiler” style and has been there done it. Hughes has made a career out of upsetting favourites. The Value Bet: Maxi Hughes to win by Decision, as he has been there done that. He has the engine to frustrate O’Leary over 12 rounds if he survives the early onslaught. But I can’t look past O’Leary.

3. Title Clash: Jono Carroll vs. Colm Murphy

Again for the Vacant IBO Super Featherweight Title

The “King Kong” returns to Ireland from his new found home in Dubai where he lives and trains. Betting firm William Hill has Carroll as the firm favorite in this all-Irish showdown.

  • Jono Carroll: 1/5
  • Colm Murphy: 10/3
  • Draw: 20/1

The Boxing bet of tonight: For me has to be Carroll by stoppage. Not only does he have the higher work rate and has competed at a much higher level internationally, he has the proven pedigree. While Murphy is a live underdog with plenty of heart, Carroll’s volume usually overwhelms opponents. The Safe Play: Carroll to win by Decision. But when betting on boxing it’s about finding the value and for me that is Carrol by stoppage at 3/1 with William Hill.

My Expert Boxing Betting Acca Tonight

If you are looking to combine these “Boxing Bets Tonight” into an acca, here is our recommended treble:

  1. Anthony Cacace to win by any means
  2. Pierce O’Leary to win by any means
  3. Jono Carroll to win by KO, TKO or DQ.

Stacked together this creates a nearly 7/1 treble with William Hill.
