After a St Patrick’s Day fight night in Dublin, boxing returns to the SSE Arena in Belfast tonight. Live on DAZN, local hero Michael Conlan who according to himself, makes what could be his final appearance in his home city. After a rollercoaster few years, Michael is on a mission to prove he still belongs at the elite level of the featherweight division.
Standing in his way is the undefeated American, Kevin “King” Walsh. With a perfect 19-0 record and a reputation for heavy hands, Walsh is coming across the Atlantic with one goal: to spoil the party and end the World title dreams of Mick for good.
The Main Event: Conlan vs. Walsh
For Conlan (20-3, 10 KOs), this isn’t just a fight; it’s a crossroads. Following recent setbacks at the SSE Arena against Luis Alberto Lopez and Jordan Gill, the 34-year-old Olympic medalist has revitalised his career under the MF Pro / Wasserman banner.
Tonight, he defends his WBC International Featherweight title, knowing that a victory moves him into the crosshairs of world champions like Bruce Carrington or Angelo Leo with eyes on a huge night at MSG.
Walsh (19-0, 10 KOs) enters as the underdog but carries the confidence of a man who has never tasted defeat. The Brockton native has promised a “masterclass” of his own, setting the stage for a tense, tactical battle in front of a raucous Belfast crowd.

My Prediction: Conlan Keep the Dream Alive?
I expect Michael Conlan to use his superior footwork and boxing IQ to neutralise Walsh’s power early. If Conlan can avoid the defensive lapses that cost him in previous Belfast outings, look for him to pull away in the later rounds for a unanimous decision victory and dream of another World title shot, this time in his home away from home and a welcomed return to the MSG.
