Cuban heavyweight Lenier Pero, who sports an impressive unbeaten professional record, has issued a stern warning to Jarrell Miller ahead of their upcoming WBA heavyweight title eliminator scheduled for this coming Saturday.
The highly anticipated clash will take place at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas and headline a Matchroom Boxing card, with the fight airing live on DAZN.
The foundations for this clash were first laid back on November 1, when Miller entered the ring to challenge Pero following the Cuban’s unanimous decision victory over Jordan Thompson at Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.
However, the build-up to the bout has already been rife with tension, with both heavyweights exchanging words, with ‘Big Baby‘ continuing his usual brand of talk and seeming confident, claiming he studied him well from his last fight, where he was present. Nonetheless, Pero seems to remain cool-headed and has issued his own statement at the presser.
“So, what can I say? So, in terms of um if he studied me a great deal, he’ll know that I’m a warrior and that I actually never give in,” Pero said in the presser. “He’s been talking a lot of s**t, as you say in English, you know, but that doesn’t affect my psychology in any way.”

Despite all that talk, Pero insists he remains a resilient fighter who is not bothered in any way by his opponents’ antics.
“It doesn’t stop, you know, opponents have before, and they’ve never stopped me in my tracks, you know, I’m going to go in there and break him,” Pero added.
The 33-year-old also highlighted a more traditional approach to the sport, distancing himself from the modern trend of social media-driven hype. Instead, he insisted his focus remains solely on delivering inside the ring.
“I’m like the old school fighters never on social media and did their talking in the ring with their fists. That’s exactly what I’m going to do.” Pero said.
Pero and Miller’s records and what’s at stake
Pero walks into the fight undefeated in his professional career with 13 wins, eight of which have been via KO/TKO. In his last appearance, Pero claimed a unanimous decision victory against Jordan Thompson in a 10-round bout.
On the other hand, Miller carries a wealth of experience into the ring, having won 27 fights out of 30, with 22 being KOs. At 37 years old, the American is still a formidable force, and he aims to extend his winning streak after a split-decision win over Kingsley Ibeh earlier in the year. That put him back in the win coloumn as he had not tasted victory since 2023.
This fight could mean a world title shot for either fighter if one emerges victorious. Although Miller’s aggression and experience make him an intimidating foe, Pero’s mental composure and superior technical skills could give him the edge.
