Who Sky Nicolson Most Wants to Fight Next

Skye Nicolson dominated Mariah Turner on April 29, winning a unanimous decision (100-89 x3) in Melbourne to retain her WBC interim super-bantamweight title and strengthen her push toward a unification fight, as reported by Boxing Social on the bell.

It could have been worse for Turner, who was almost stopped in the sixth after Nicolson landed a straight left hand to send the challenger to the corner, who ultimately survived to box another round.

The referee also reprimanded Turner with a point deduction in the 10th and final round for use of the head.

It was Nicolson’s 17th fight, and the 16th win of her career, having rebounded now from a split decision loss to Tiara Brown in 2025 to win four in a row, winning the WBC interim female super bantamweight belt after losing the WBC featherweight title, last year.

She wants no soft touches going forward, and called for one of the most challenging fights.

“I want superfights,” said Nicolson. “I want undisputed, I was born for the big stage.”

She then called on whom she most wants to fight next.

“Ellie Scotney, I’m next in line, let’s make it happen.”

A 28-year-old fighter from England, Scotney is one of the best fighters in Most Valuable Promotions’s hulking female roster. She won the IBF female super bantamweight title in 2023 with a decision win over Cherneka Johnson, and defended the belt five times since, winning others, to claim undisputed status in the division.

It’s likely Scotney moves up a division but Nicolson wants her to stay.

“I know you’ve been at 122 for a long time,” she said, “but come on, have one more fight.”
