Naoya Inoue and Junto Nakatani Both Make Weight Ahead of Historic Bout in Tokyo

We have a fight!

Naoya Inoue and Junto Nakatani have both made the weight today ahead of the biggest boxing match in Japan’s history.

Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) hit the scale at 121.92 pounds, while Nakatani (32-0, 24 KOs) weighed in at 121.47 pounds. Both men came under the super bantamweight limit of 122 pounds. Both men looked in good health as the posed to cameras following the cut.

Inoue will make a seventh straight defense of his undisputed super bantamweight title, with Nakatani only making his second appearance at super bantamweight.

In the chief support Takuma Inoue defends his WBC bantamweight title against another Japanese legend in Kazuto Ioka. Inoue (21-2, 5 KO) weighed in comfortably under the 118 pound limit, weighing in at 117.73 pounds. While Ioka (32-4-1, 17 KOs) hit the scale a touch higher at 117.95 pounds.

Also on the card Sora Tanaka and Jin Sasaki both came in under the welterweight limit on 147 pounds ahead of their scheduled ten rounder. Tanaka (5-0, 5 KOs) and Sasaki (20-2-1, 18 KOs) weigh in identically at 146.61 pounds.

Former world champion Yoshiki Takei and DeKang Wang both made the limit for their scheduled eight round bout at super bantamweight. Takei (11-1, 9 KOs) and China’s Wang (9-1, 3 KOs) recorded the same weight of 121.7 pounds.
