UFC boss Dana White is claiming involvement in the prospective clash between British heavyweight rivals Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
The bout has been a long-time coming with ample time to have organized a trilogy of fights already, however, the fight always seemed to be on the horizon rather than the present, until Fury’s return to boxing earlier this year when he defeated Arslanbak Makhmudov atop a fight card at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Netflix.
Following his win, Fury turned to Joshua who was slouched ringside at the time, and implored him to meet him in the ring.
This came at a time in which Joshua’s career-long promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, said they’d received a two-fight contract from the sport’s financier Turki Alalshikh regarding a summer tune-up before the Battle of Britain with Fury, later this year.
It was an agreement, Hearn said, Joshua would “likely” accept.”
But Hearn isn’t promoting the Fury fight, according to White. He is.
“I’m doing the Tyson Fury vs AJ fight — I’m promoting that.”

Joshua, meanwhile, will first fight Kristian Prenga on July 25. Prenga is a 21-fight pro with 20 knockouts from 20 wins against just one defeat.
Fury, despite shaking off the ring-rust against Makhmudov, is also linked with a tune-up but it us unclear, as yet, against whom.
