In its latest rankings, the WBO has officially installed Keyshawn Davis as the number one-ranked contender in the welterweight division.
This cements Davis’ position as the mandatory challenger to current WBO Welterweight Champion, Devin Haney.
It has been reported that Haney will soon be called to face his mandatory challenger, with August expected to be the target month. As a result, it now appears very likely that we will see Devin Haney vs Keyshawn Davis next.

Following the announcement, Haney reacted on X with the words: “Let’s do it Keyshawn”.
Keyshawn Davis last fought on May 16, defeating Nahir Albright by unanimous decision. However, controversy surrounded the fight as Davis missed weight for the second time in his career.
His decision to move up to 147 has created the opportunity for what fans expect to be a fantastic matchup against Haney, who defeated Brian Norman Jr in November 2025 to become WBO Welterweight Champion.
Therefore, the latest WBO rankings have moved Devin Haney vs Keyshawn Davis a significant step closer.
