In the build-up to his next fight, Ryan Garcia has labelled one heavyweight as an ‘all time great’. Garcia is somewhat on the comeback trail after coming unstuck in his last fight in April. It was by far the biggest test of his career against multi-weight world champion Gervonta Davis and it ended with Garcia […]
One heavyweight contender still bellies that Usyk should not have retained his world title after his last fight. That fight was a second defense of his WBA, WBO and IBF world titles against Daniel Dubois out in Poland in August following his first defense against Anthony Joshua, who he took the titles from in 2021. […]
One common opponent of Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder has a clear favourite to win should the pair ever meet. A deal has not yet been done for the two big heavyweight punchers to collide in the same ring on the same night. Though it has been talked about and teased for years, the closest […]
He might be long retired, but Riddick Bowe claims he is still ready to fight one heavyweight at the drop of a hat. Bowe was one of the greats of his era with two big wins over Evander Holyfield, though he didn’t fight Mike Tyson and a battle with Lennox Lewis never came to pass, […]
Deontay Wilder and Joseph Parker come to blows on the mega card in Saudi Arabia on December 23 in a solid heavyweight match-up between two former world champions. Wilder is coming off something of a long stretch out of the ring, having fought just once since losing to Tyson Fury for a second time in […]
Zhilei Zhang believes it would be a ‘disaster’ for Tyson Fury should he get his shot against him. It’s fair to say that Fury no longer has quite the same aura around him that he did before his fight against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. Up to that point, Fury was brushing aside all competition, […]
Liam Smith believes his loss to Chris Eubank Jr doesn’t give a fair reflection of Eubank’s level and has warned people not to ‘judge him from our fight.’ Smith and Eubank came to blows twice in a fine British rivalry this year. The first fight happened when Eubank needed an opponent after his ill-fated fight […]
John Fury is concerned his son will not be fully ready to take on the challenge of Oleksandr Usyk on February 17. Tyson Fury has been rushed straight back into training for this historic undisputed fight quicker than many in his camp would have wanted. Ideally, he would have taken time to recover from what […]
Oleksandr Usyk has made a prediction about the outcome of a fight between Anthony Joshua and Deaontay Wilder. This is a heavyweight matchup that has been much talked about. Both men were world champions for many years concurrently but never managed to agree on a fight before both lost their titles. Wilder lost two of […]
Many people have started asking questions of Tyson Fury in light of his last fight, and one Hall of Famer is now doubting his chin. Lineal and WBC champion Fury remains unbeaten in the ring and has often breezed through fights. It was his defining trilogy with American heavy hitter Deontay Wilder that really put […]
It has taken him a few weeks but Joe Calzaghe has settled on his opinion of who won the fight between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. The fight between the WBC and Lineal champion Fury and former UFC champion Ngannou took place on October 28 in Riyadh and sent unexpected shockwaves around the boxing world. […]
In a rather ironic turn of events, Conor Benn’s comeback opponent has failed a drug test. Benn fought Mexican Rodolfo Orozco back in the summer across 10 rounds out in Florida. It was his first fight since a much-anticipated clash with British rival Chris Eubank Jr in October 2022 fell through when the 26-year-old returned […]
