Yesterday the boxing world received the news it had been waiting for quite some time.
Tyson Fury’s ban has been lifted and the former World heavyweight champion can officially get his license back and return to professional boxing.

Fury’s battle against UKAD and depression have been well documented for these two years in the media. His younger cousin Hughie Fury was also a part of the doping violation charge after the two boxers tested positive for nandrolone in February 2015. Ever since being charged in June 2016, the Fury’s have always denied all allegations of taking performance enhancing drugs.
A relieved Fury commented on UKAD’s decision yesterday and spoke about how he can finally put ‘this nightmare’ behind him.
“I’m a fighting man through and through and I’ve never backed down from anyone in my life and I was certainly not going to back down from fighting this dispute.
“Hughie and I have maintained our innocence from day one and we’re now happy that it has finally been settled with UKAD and that we can move forward knowing that we’ll not be labelled drug cheats,” said Fury according to the Mirror.
With the help of Morgan Sports Law and through the support from his family, Fury has managed to get a second chance at professional boxing.
“I can now put the nightmare of the last two years behind me, which has been particularly hard on my family, but with their support and strength, along with my uncle Peter, Hennessy Sports and Morgan Sports Law, we’ve fought through relentlessly together and I can now enjoy Christmas with my family and new born daughter,” commented Fury.
The next big step for Fury is to get back into fighting shape and at some point next year face Anthony Joshua in what would be the biggest domestic heavyweight boxing fight ever in the UK.
Fury obviously wasted no time after the verdict and sent a message to Joshua.

“Next year I will be back doing what I do best, better than ever and ready to reclaim the world titles which are rightfully mine. It’s time to get the party started #themacisback.”
Fury also has called out Tony Bellew and both fighters have agreed to fight in 2018.
“Tyson Fury is a man of his word, so he’s good to deal with. A brilliant fighter, but I definitely reckon the way things have gone and the way the land lies at the moment, I definitely reckon I can beat him. I spoke to him a little while back. We had a chat and we went over a few things and that was it. There wasn’t really much to say besides ‘I want to fight you, you want to fight me. You’re Ring belt magazine champion, I like your belt, I want to punch your face in,” said Bellew to Sky Sports.
Next year is shaping up to be a massive year in boxing and especially with news of Fury’s official comeback, 2018 could be one of the most memorable periods that the sport has seen in a long time.
