Manny Pacquiao will have his next fight screened free-to-air in the UK.
The WBA world welterweight king takes on Adrien Broner next month, hoping to add to his belt collection when he defends his crown.
Pacquiao, 40, faces former four-weight champion Broner at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 19.
And the fight will be shown exclusively live on ITV4, as part of ITV Sport’s groundbreaking new deal with Haymon Sports and Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) to bring exclusive coverage of exciting PBC world-class boxing events to ITV viewers and fight fans in the UK for the next three years.
Pacquiao is heading into his first defence on the back of July’s sensational stoppage victory over former ruler Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, while ‘AB’, an ex-holder of Pacquiao’s title who lost it in his first defence back in December 2013, heads towards the showdown with 11-time champ ‘PacMan’ on the back of an April majority draw against Jessie Vargas at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York.
PBC, which has appointed Poxon Sports as the exclusive promoter of all UK PBC events on ITV, has also revealed that Jose Uzcategui’s first defence of the IBF world super-middleweight crown against Caleb Plant will be broadcast on ITV4 on January 13, with coverage coming from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.
Further dates and fights under the UK PBC banner will be revealed in due course.
