Alex Pereira’s Old Warning About Jamahal Hill Suddenly Looks Different

An old footage showing the behind-the-scene moments of a UFC 300 fight between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill is going viral. The promotion released the footage earlier on Monday, suddenly changing how fans understand Pereira’s old statements regarding Hill.

The Brazilian’s win further extended his MMA legacy as it earned him is second UFC belt, his first at middleweight. Pereira went on to become one of the promotion’s biggest stars with notable victories, including a title win against Israel Adesanya. Recently, new footage lends some credence to Pereira’s boasting concerning Hill.

What the new footage reveals about Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill’s relationship

The intriguing footage showed backstage action from Pereira’s April 2024 fight against the American fighter. Hill reportedly asked “Poatan” to sign a hoodie in the clip. Meanwhile, just before asking for the legend’s autograph, Hill enquired about Pereira’s favorite slogan, “chama.” Pereira replied by explaining the Portuguese term means “Let go.” Despite the lighthearted exchange, Pereira mercilessly knocked out Hill in the first round to retain his belt. The Brazilian has since bragged about the night’s events in subsequent conversations surrounding Hill.

“A few days ago, Jamahal said he respected me. He asked me to autograph his hoodie. And yesterday he did what he did. But tomorrow he will pay.”

Hill is a former UFC light heavyweight champion who ranks #6 in the UFC light heavyweight rankings. He has the second-highest significant strike differential in UFC championship history and registered the second-most-significant strikes in a title fight (against Glover Teixeira).

Before his UFC 300 fight against Pereira, he was the 2023 President’s Choice Fight of the Year nominee. This feat, alongside other accolades in the promotion, could have made anyone haughty. However, as the new footage confirms, Hill was humble and respectable in his dealings with legendary names in the game.
