Amir Khan is training again as he’s trying to get his boxing career back on track.
His camp near San Francisco is reportedly going just as planned and Khan has also been mending ties with his family and Anthony Joshua.
The internet went crazy for a bit when Khan went on a massive Twitter and claimed that Anthony Joshua had an affair with his current ex-wife, Faryal Makhdoom Khan.
But according to the former world champion, it was all done in the heat of the moment and the beef is settled with Joshua.
“He rang me. I told him everything was cool. Everything was a misunderstanding and we just put a bag over it.He said, ‘I wanna be able to come up and shake your hand, champ.’ I said we want to keep the respect and love,” explained Khan in an interview with the Daily Mail.
The boxer also had serious problems with his own family but he’s since been able to resolve all issues.
“The family is always there for you. You come to see the real people around you. I’m back to basics. With those who helped throughout my career, all the way to world titles. The people who are really looking out for you,” said Khan.
The Bolton native is planning a return to the ring this November or early December. His opponent is still undetermined but it’s clear Khan wants another world title around his waist.
Khan has mentioned Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson but there are also other big names in the welterweight division. When the names Keith Thurman and Erroll Spence Jr were mentioned, Khan wasn’t overly impressed.
“People are talking up Keith Thurman but I don’t see him as that special even though he’s a big puncher. There’s a lot of hype about Spence but I see him as beatable. If I can prove that it would put to bed all the talk about me and Brook, who I’ve never really rated,” explained Khan.
Right now it looks like Khan has his mind made up about fighting Garcia or Peterson. Both men beat Khan back in 2011 and 2012.
“I would love to fight Danny and or Peterson again. Those fights should not be difficult to make as we all have Al Haymon as our advisor. People might see these as 50-50 fights but I want to box the best,” said Khan.
