Andy Ruiz Jr and Deontay Wilder are doing a lot of talking, but seem to have made little progress towards a fight since their order to do so last November.
As the number one and two ranked contenders with the WBC, the sanctioning body invited the pair to negotiate a final eliminator bout that would see a mandatory challenger for world champion, Tyson Fury, announced.
That was was around nine months ago. There was little to report until very recently, when Wilder’s team sent an offer to Ruiz. The Mexican-American’s father deemed it a lowball, and talks look to be back to square one.
It hasn’t stopped the two former champions engaging in a social media back and forth – the latest instalment of which sees Ruiz promise Wilder he will ‘have diarrhoea’ before the fight.
“What you mean scared, bro? I ain’t scared of nobody, only person I’m scared of is the man up above. You want to talk about money, you want to talk about respect, that you’re gonna blow my brains out. Bro you’re gonna have diarrhoea before you step into that ring.
Let’s make this s**t happen. I’m tryna get this. I’m tryna humble your ass down, man. Let’s just be fair, let’s be reasonable. Let’s tell Al Haymon to cut the cheque and show everybody what we’re about. It’s not about the money, I’m here to f***ing win, become champion again.
Let’s get it. But remember, you’re gonna have diarrhoea before you step into that ring.”

As amusing as it is, fans are becoming frustrated with all the talk and little action.
Whilst these frustrating call outs go on, Fury has been allowed ‘special permission’ by the sanctioning body to step away from boxing and fight a crossover bout with MMA star, Francis Ngannou.
