Andy Ruiz Threatens Deontay Wilder: “This Fat Kid Will Humble You”

Andy Ruiz Jr has threatened to ‘humble’ Deontay Wilder as the back and forth continues between the two former champions.

Ruiz and Wilder were ordered last November to battle it out in a final eliminator by the WBC to determine who would be the next mandatory challenger for Tyson Fury’s world title.

Plenty of time passed with very little movement on the fight, but it was recently revealed that an offer had been sent by Wilder. Ruiz’s father publicly declared it a low-ball, believing his son was worth a 50/50 purse split and not the proposed 70/30.

Wilder tore into the demands, branding Ruiz a bad fighter and even worse ticket seller. The Mexican didn’t respond, until now. Taking to social media, he addressed Wilder’s points and then reignited the talk of settling it in the ring.

“Deontay mother-f***ing Wilder, you’re mad, wow. F**k, man, why you mad for? Just cause my dad’s trying to look out for me? That he wants the best for me? Trying to get me as much money as he can? Come on, man, there’s no reason to be f***ing mad about that.

Talking about I’m fat, I got short arms, that I’m fast. That’s what everybody thinks. That’s what everybody says until they meet me inside the ring. Guess what? This f***ing fat, chubby kid is about to humble your ass down. Let’s get it baby. Come on.”

Fans will hope that the online rivalry bodes well for a fight being made – at the very least it shows the interest is still there.

It would represent some welcome movement in a relatively stagnant heavyweight division that has so far disappointed fans in 2023.

Despite not having his next bout settled, Wilder has been discussing the one after. He’s all set to face Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia should the two not lose or get injured – Joshua against Dillian Whyte in August and Wilder potentially against Ruiz.
