Anthony Joshua was in no mood for pleasantries following his knockout of Francis Ngannou and issued a foul mouthed rant to Tyson Fury.
Joshua dispatched Ngannou in mightily impressive fashion on Friday night. The former two-time world champion wasted little time in getting down to business and knocked the former UFC heavyweight champion down twice.
He then finished him in catastrophic fashion with a third knockdown mid-way through the second round. He barely took a single punch himself on the way to victory.
It was a devastating finish not many predicted given how tough Ngannou has proven himself to be in the octagon before now, and especially following his solid showing against WBC and lineal champion Fury back in October.
Speaking to IFL TV after the fight, Joshua was asked about his views on Fury who was watching ringside.
“Fu*k Tyson Fury. I don’t normally like trash-talking people but I heard him say something about doing commentary for two sausages or something. That man he fought [Ngannou] is an ex-UFC champion who turned his life around. It’s too disrespectful.”
Joshua, a keen boxing historian who wishes he had seen three heavyweights in action, can now sit back and wait for Fury to have his next fight – the undisputed contest with Oleksandr Usyk, the winner of which he could well be in line to fight before the end of the year.
