There is plenty of movement in the banner division once more and now a former opponent of Anthony Joshua has called out Daniel Dubois for a fight.
Following a series of huge cards in Saudi Arabia, there has been quite a turnaround in fortunes for several fighters in the last year.
Previously out in the cold after losses to Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, Joseph Parker is one man back in the frame after great wins against Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.
Joshua himself has twice defeated former Tyson Fury opponents in fantastic fashion in Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou, although one onlooking contender was not impressed.
Meanwhile Dubois, himself rebuilding after a loss to Joe Joyce, did well to overcome Jarrell Miller back in December with a last-minute 10th round stoppage over the American.
Next up is the much-anticipated contest between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for all four of the major world title belts – the first undisputed fight for some 25 years.
Ahead of that, competent heavyweight contender Jermain Franklin who was beaten on points by Joshua back in April of last year, and also lost to Whyte the same way before that, now wants his third Brit in a row.
The American has called out Daniel Dubois in a short post on X.
“Let’s get it on #danieldubois #fyp”
Franklin is ranked nine with the WBO and Dubois sits at seven for the belt currently owned by Usyk, so it would be a good match up for both men in their quest to get a tilt at world honours once some of the belts are potentially freed up after the undisputed contest.
