Anthony Joshua is putting the final touches on his training ahead of his showdown with Francis Ngannou on March 8 and now one of his sparring partners has broken down the fight.
Ngannou is riding on a high despite his boxing debut being a loss. It came at the hands of WBC and lineal champion Tyson Fury but not before he impressed and knocked Fury down in the third round of their fight last October.
He eventually lost on the scorecards after 10 rounds but did much better than many people expected. That led many onlookers to claim that Fury was underprepared or, worse, beginning to show signs of decline, including his own father John Fury.
Joshua meanwhile has looked back to his best in his last three fights registering two knockout wins over Robert Helenius and Otto Wallin and a points victory over Jermaine Franklin.
Speaking to Sky Sports Boxing, fighting prospect Jeamie TKV assessed how he sees the fight going.
“Both big punchers but I believe that night will be Joshua’s night. I believe that Joshua will get the knockout, and he’s going to shock people.”
He then qualified what makes him positioned to say that as one Sky pundit sends a stark warning to Joshua ahead of the fight.
‘I was sparring AJ for the last few weeks of camp and we was there sparring yesterday.”
He then spoke about people’s expectations for the fight and why they are wrong.
“A lot of people are probably expecting him to beat AJ but I think he’s underestimated AJ. AJ is on point, he changes all the time, so Ngannou needs to come on point too.”
