Anthony Joshua Teases Next Fight – And It Could Be Sooner Than Expected

Anthony Joshua has been more active in this last year than he has been for many years before that but is already teasing his next fight and it could be much sooner than anyone might have expected.

The last year has been good for Joshua after a difficult period in 2021 and 2022 when he was dethroned by Oleksandr Usyk at Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium in London, then failed to win back his world titles in an immediate rematch in Saudi Arabia.

In the last 11 months, he has got back to winning ways with a points victory over Jermiane Frankin last April, then a knockout of Robert Helenius in August.

That was followed by a technical stoppage of Otto Wallin in December, then a devastating knockout of Francis Ngannou back at the start of March.

He was expected to wait it out for the winner of the undisputed fight between Tyson Fury and Usyk on May 18, or maybe take on Fillip Hrgovic soon after for the IBF belt that will become vacant after that historic fight night.

However, a new post on Joshua’s Instagram stories captured in a post on X by EverythingBoxing suggests he has had a call from his 258 management group with an offer of a fight which he is willing to accept.

The picture of him on the phone came with a captain explaining that.

“Incoming call from 2258mgt
AJ: How can I help
@258mgt: they want you to fight X
AJ: I will get ready”

Rumours have already started that it could be a fight on the upcoming 5 v 5 Queensbury versus Matchroom card planned for June 1st out in Saudi Arabia as yesterday it was revealed that it will feature two heavyweight contests.
