Could Anthony Joshua be about to step aside from a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk to allow an undisputed heavyweight title fight to happen?
The Telegraph are reporting that the British star is near to accepting £15 million pounds to allow Usyk and Tyson Fury to contest for all four titles.
Joshua lost his WBA, IBF and WBO belts last September at Tottenham Hotspur stadium and has since spoke of his determination to exact revenge on the Ukrainian.
However, it could well be that ‘AJ’ accepts a deal for the undisputed fight to take place which may well get him a shot at the winner, as well as a fight in between and more time to work with his new trainer who he is still to announce.
Fury, the WBC champion, had been mandated to defend his green and gold championship against Dillian Whyte. However, Whyte, the Interim champion is involved in an ongoing arbitration with the organisation after challenging the 20% split he was to receive for fighting Fury.
No confirmation has been given on who is fighting where and what for, but Fury does have a date of March 26 pencilled in the diary for his first bout of 2022.
