Earlier this week, former unified world heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury (25-0) created quite a stir when he called out Tony Bellew.
This followed the postponement of the hotly anticipated Bellew – Haye II rematch. Haye withdrew after suffering a bicep injury.
In his post, Fury stated ‘Like I said before Tony, you want to fight a real man, you want to fight the best heavyweight in the world, the heavyweight that beat everybody else.
“The heavyweight that has never lost, the real heavyweight champion of the world, then we are ready and waiting.”
‘They call you the ‘bomber’, I call you the bell***. It will be no contest, one uppercut, ceiling job,”
“If you think you can do anything different then prove me wrong and you can bring your big mate, the big dosser, David Price.”

Tony Bellew took the opportunity to respond to Fury’s comments on Soccer AM: ‘I’ve got a massive interest in fighting ‘Stavros Flatley’ lookalike Tyson Fury to be honest.
‘Listen he’s given me a hell of a lot of stick, as good as he is. But Stavros if you’re out there, let’s get it going;” Bellew added.
Bellew also made it readily apparent, he has no fear of the biggest fighters in the heavyweight division.
‘Everybody says I’m scared of big heavyweights, well they don’t come any bigger than Stavros Flatley so listen I’m game to do it when you are.’
They say I’m scared to face the giants of the division so ya know what I’ll do? I’ll fight the biggest of them all, Tyson “Stavros Flatley” Fury anytime… Get your hearing sorted @Tyson_Fury , I’ll fold you like a deck chair son! 👊 #BiggerTheyAreTheHarderTheyFallhttps://t.co/e0IROG9ajR

Furthermore, Bellew says it is his intention, to stay in the gym. With his focus now totally on preparing for a blockbuster summer 2018 clash.
‘Between now and summer I’m just going to stay in the gym. For once it would be nice to fight someone fatter than me, listen I just think it would make for a great fight.’
Finally, ‘The Bomber’ comically added on a final note. ‘He looks like Desperate Dan, to be honest he looks like he’s eaten Desperate Dan.’
