So far Tony Bellew has been mentioned in the same sentence as Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, Tyson Fury, and David Haye. A new name can be added to that list. The Liverpudlian is open to the idea of fighting arguably the number one pound for pound boxer in the world, Andre Ward.
“If he really wants to do it – I’m game, it’s as simple as that. I’m a full blown, big cruiserweight. I’m not a light-heavyweight who is struggling anymore and I’ve just shown that I can deal with one of the most powerful heavyweights in the world. I would have no problem dealing with Andre Ward,” said Bellew in an interview Sky Sports.
It’s no secret that Bellew is also very eager to fight David Haye for the second time. ‘The Bomber’ stopped ‘The Hayemaker’ in March despite being the underdog. Just like Bellew has been saying, he’s willing to fight Haye but under his conditions.
“I am willing to do it, not a problem, as long as I have some say this time because last time I had zero say,” explained Bellew.
