After stopping David Haye last March Tony Bellew is looking for his next opponent.
A rematch with Haye might happen some time next year but before that, Bellew is targeting a late year return. ‘The Bomber’ is eager to face WBA champion Joseph Parker but won’t rule out a fight against Deontay Wilder.
“Before the year is out, I’ll be back in November or December. It’s him or Parker. Wilder is still out there and I’ve put out a tweet to put him straight after that video that I’ve seen him do. It’s between the three of them, it’s definitely between the three of them, without a doubt,” said Bellew in an interview with Sky Sports.
‘The Bomber’ admits that he still has ‘unfinished business’ with Haye who is currently recovering from an achilles injury. Still, Bellew seems to be keen on fighting Parker more than anybody else.
“There is unfinished business with Haye, but in all honesty, I love the thought of becoming heavyweight champion of the world, so my preference will be Parker,” told Bellew.
The 34-year old Liverpudlian wants another belt to his collection and it’s likely that landing a fight against Parker could be possible. Then again, Parker has Hughie Fury waiting for him, who is the mandatory challenger for his WBA title.
