DAZN’s first dip into the UK pay-per-view market could come on October 8.
Despite the attempts of their promoters Eddie Hearn and Kalle Sauerland to play down speculation Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are being lined up to fight one another.
Sun Sport’s Chisanga Malata tweeted today that the two historic British boxing surnames will once again be locked into battle. The O2 Arena in London is on course to stage the catchweight fight (rumoured to be at 155lbs) which will come as a surprise to many.
Malata added that the all-British blockbuster will be broadcast by DAZN and will be their first PPV in the UK.

In recent days Hearn has dismissed the idea of a fight describing it as ‘fantasy’ while Sauerland described the talk to Boxing Social as ‘wild speculation’.
Combat sports journalist Gareth A. Davies went on record during it all to say that the fight is going ahead during an appearance on Talksport.
Benn v Eubank Jr brings together an unbeaten welterweight title contender and a former world super middleweight title challenger. Conor had been linked to a fight against Keith Thurman but instead will fight for his dad’s honour and the Benn legacy 32 years on from the first bout between Nigel and Chris Sr.
Chris Jr will be looking to get another win for his family name after his father stopped his arch-rival in 1990 for the WBO Middleweight title. Three years later at Old Trafford the two men fought out their Super-Middleweight title unification, a far less engrossing bout, which ended in a split draw despite each man believing they had won.
Conor’s promoter Eddie Hearn was a guest on The DAZN Boxing Show this week announcing that a very exciting announcement was in the works. It appears that Conor Benn v Chris Eubank Jr on October 8 at the O2 Arena, London live on DAZN PPV is that announcement.
