Rising super-middleweight dynamo Edgar Berlanga believes a clash with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez is inevitable if he keeps on winning.
The explosive Berlanga, who has 16 first round stoppage wins in as many fights, takes on Demond Nicholson tomorrow evening in Florida.
Canelo Alvarez hopes to add the WBO 168lbs title to his WBC/WBA belts when he takes on Billy Joe Saunders on May 8 – a fight the 23-year-old Berlanga will be keeping a close eye on.
“The puzzle is connected together perfectly [For the Canelo fight],” Berlanga told Metro.co.uk. “I just have to continue to win in a remarkable fashion and it is going to come.
“He’s a star, I’m a future superstar. For me, I’ve just got to continue to win, continue to grow my brand and build the image and continue to win, that’s the most important thing.
“Everything there cannot happen unless I keep winning. But if I keep winning, keep looking good and keep performing, man, that fight is there.”
