WBC and IBF light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev will collide with WBC No.1 contender Marcus Browne at the Bell Centre in Montreal on December 17.
Beterbiev-Browne will take place at the home of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens and be staged by Top Rank after the champion’s promoter won the purse bids with a $1,105,000 offer in September, according to Keith Idec of BoxingScene.
It will be Russian Beterbiev’s first fight in his adopted hometown of Montreal since a first-round win over Isidro Ranoni Pietro in December 2016.
Beterbiev (16-0, 16 KOs) was last seen halting Adam Deines in 10 rounds in Moscow in March. New Yorker Browne (24-1, 16 KOs) outpointed Denis Grachev in Los Angeles in April.
