# Billy Joe Saunders Chooses Promoter To Guide His Comeback: “I Want The Biggest Fights”

[Following the news that Billy Joe Saunders is to make a welcome return to the ring,](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/billy-joe-saunders-comeback-fights-left/) he has now revealed which promoter he will have helping him to get back into the world title picture.

For many, 30-year-old Saunders is one of Britains biggest talents. Having lifted world honours in the middleweight and super middleweight divisions, it would be a well decorated career even if he was to hang up the gloves now.

[It has now been two and a half years since he was last out and lost to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in a super middleweight unification fight in Texas.](https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/may/09/canelo-alvarez-billy-joe-saunders-fight-report)

Saunders did well in the early rounds, keeping Canelo at range and using his fancy footwork to stay out of trouble until Canelo eventually caught him with a huge uppercut that broke his orbital bone and led Saunders to stay on his stool after the eighth round.

In an interview with [William Hill](https://www.youtube.com/@UpFrontWithSimonJordan/videos), Saunders has now said he will be back in December at super middleweight.

> “I have to come back to boxing, because I can’t keep thinking about ‘could’ve, would’ve, should’ve…’ I know it’s been two-and-a-half years now, but I’ve been boxing mentally since I was five years old, so I needed that break so much.”

He then revealed who would be promoting him in his final fights, and it is someone he has worked with before.

> “I haven’t got an opponent yet but I’m going to go back with Eddie Hearn \[of Matchroom\] and sort something.”

He then admitted he wouldn’t be crashing the weight in a rush and only has a couple of fights left.

> “I want to slowly bring it down and have a little run-out, get the ball rolling, pick an opponent and then look for the biggest fights Eddie can bring me. I only want three or four fights.”

With a number of Matchroom cards mooted for December, there are opportunities for Saunders should be able to get himself in shape.
