# “The Best Performance I’ve Ever Seen”: Boxing World Reacts To Crawford Stopping Spence

Terence Crawford beat Errol Spence Jr via ninth round stoppage to become the undisputed welterweight champion and perhaps the best fighter in the world today.

Crawford flipped the script that it was [a pick ’em fight](https://www.premierboxingchampions.com/news/errol-spence-jr-vs-terence-crawford-legend-and-legacy) by picking off Spence throughout, [dropping him three times on the way to a referee’s stoppage that wasn’t a second too soon.](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/errol-spence-jr-terence-crawford-report/)

Naturally, big names from the sport had praise to give…

[@terencecrawford](https://twitter.com/terencecrawford?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) destroyed [@ErrolSpenceJr](https://twitter.com/ErrolSpenceJr?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw). I take no pleasure in saying that. Love’em both. But it’s just the truth. Haven’t seen this kind of whipping since Trinidad destroyed Joppy.…
