Former world champion Tim Bradley is a fan of Devin Haney and has named the one man he would like to see him fight next, predicting that it could be bigger than a fight with Ryan Garcia.
Haney and Garcia are two of boxing’s brightest talents, with Haney already a two-weight world champion. Most recently he dethroned Regis Prograis to lift the super lightweight title after unifying at lightweight with wins over Vasyl Lomachenko and George Kambossos Jr.
Garcia is yet to reach those heights and after solid wins over the likes of Javier Fortuna and Luke Campbell, he faltered when coming up against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and was knocked out last April with a body shot.
Speaking on Pro Box TV, Bradley outlines a route he would like to see Haney take.
“Why don’t you go ahead and with Teo[fimo Lopez]? There are options at 140 lbs. Why don’t you go after Teo?
“That might be an even bigger fight than Garcia, because guess who has a belt? And you have a belt. And then right there you have a unification at 140 lbs in one of the biggest fights of 2024.”
Lopez would represent a great challenge for Haney. He currently holds the WBO world super lightweight title having beaten Josh Taylor in June of 2023 and next up takes on Jamaine Ortiz on February 8 at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.
