Former two-weight world champion-turned analyst Timothy Bradley believes Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will capture the undisputed 168lbs championship within the distance against Caleb Plant this weekend.
Bradley believes IBF champion Plant must be punch-perfect to topple WBC, WBA and WBO title holder Canelo – something he does not expect to happen in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
“Plant is 21-0 and the IBF super-middleweight champion for a reason,” Bradley told ESPN. “The win over Uzcategui was impressive, and he has had some good title defences. But, he has never been in there with anyone close to the level of Alvarez.
“He’s going to have to fight a perfect fight, and while Plant has the tools to potentially do it, I just don’t see it happening.
“There’s a reason Alvarez is a 10/1 betting favourite. I don’t see this fight going the distance either. I think Alvarez pieces Plant up, and then knocks him out with a body shot in the middle-to-late rounds.”
