Former heavyweight title challenger, Derek Chisora, has hit out at Carl Froch for his comments regarding Anthony Joshua, to which ‘Del Boy’ feels is nothing more than jealousy.
The recent Hall of Fame inductee, Froch, claimed that Joshua would stand no chance against current champion, Tyson Fury, explaining that the long-standing face of British boxing has lost his killer instinct, has become too defensive-minded and ‘gasses after eight rounds’, following on from other previous criticism made in the past.
In an interview with Boxing News, Chisora gunned for Froch, labelling the former super-middleweight champion as a jealous ‘journalist’ and ordering him to keep his ‘AJ’ comments to himself.
“F**k Froch. He needs to shut the f**k up and stay wherever he is in his dark hole, f***ing a***hole.
He is jealous. When someone is saying something about another man, it’s as simple as jealousy. There is nothing else. Carl Froch is jealous of AJ.”
If I wanted to say something to AJ which is negative, I call him and say ‘yo, on this interview where you said that or the way you boxed in this fight, it was not great’. That is what you say, as a friend. But when you are a journalist, your point is to go and stand in front of the cameras and just rant about another fighter, it’s jealousy, nothing else.
Sky [Sports] didn’t give him another contract because he talks s**t about other people, that’s why.”
Chisora was speaking at the press conference ahead of Joshua’s upcoming rematch with fellow Londoner, Dillian Whyte, where he will look to repeat history and knock out his ever-present rival.
