Four-division world champion, Adrien Broner, has made his prediction for a potential fight between Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis and Shakur Stevenson.
Davis extended his unbeaten record to 29-0 with a 27th knockout win when he defeated Ryan Garcia in a catchweight bout earlier in the year and, in the process, became one of the biggest stars in the sport.
Meanwhile, Shakur Stevenson made his lightweight debut in the same month, knocking out Shuichiro Yoshino and kickstarting life at 135lbs, where he hopes to become a three-weight champion.
With rumours that Stevenson will risk his undefeated record against either ‘Tank’ or undisputed king, Devin Haney, in his next outing, Broner told Fight Hub TV that he believes the heavy handed knockout artist from Baltimore will find a way to get the victory.
“I think Tank [has] got what it takes to beat them all.
That [Stevenson] will be hit toughest match, but I still think Tank would pull it off. I think Tank would find a way to pull it off, even though Shakur is one of the baddest fighters out there, his talent is different.
I’ve seen it first hand, it’s different, it’s some different s*** going on with that kid, he’s amazing and I still feel like Tank will put it off.”
Whatever those in the sport are predicting, fans will care most about seeing the fight signed and delivered first.
As for Broner himself, he is making a comeback to the ring in what will be just his second contest in four-and-a-half years.
‘The Problem’ has clear ambitions of making his way to the top of the welterweight division and will fight Bill Hutchinson on June 9 in Miami as he begins his rebuild
The event will be available to watch on FITE TV in both the United States and in the U.K. for a price of $24.99, with Guillermo Rigondeaux also featuring on the undercard.
