Out of nowhere Caleb Plant ended his fight with Anthony Dirrell with a violent combination which left his opponent laying motionless on the canvas.
The fight was a drab affair which looked certain to be heading to the judges – that was before Plant landed a perfect left to the body followed up by a left hook to the chin. It left Dirrell flat on his back and unconscious, there was immediate concern for his health as the ringside doctor ran to attend to him.
Boxing should be talking about one of the knockouts of the year, but instead doing the rounds on social media is Plant’s controversial celebration. While Dirrell was receiving medical attention ‘Sweet Hands’ pretended to dig his grave with a shovel.

On spotting the unsavoury actions of Plant, the referee, Harvey Dock, ran to stop him, only for the brash American to carry on anyway.
In his post-fight interview, Plant continued to showed little sympathy for his opponent.
“I’m sure all of you heard how he [Dirrell] hates me and how he said he will never let a white boy beat him.
Let me tell you something, skin doesn’t win fights, skills win fights.
What I’ve got in here is more than he had. I was in full control the whole time, my coach kept telling me to stay patient, don’t listen to the crowd, stick to the gameplan and that’s what we did and then, boom baby!”
On what’s next for Plant, he continued:
“I’m here to stay, and I think I proved that tonight. We’re looking to make more big fights going forward.”
