# Campbell Hatton Wins In Abu Dhabi Via First Round Knockout

Campbell Hatton knows he doesn’t get paid for overtime. The young fighter put away a late-announced opponent with a crisp body shot.

As part of the prelim fights on the undercard of Dmitry Bivol versus Gilberto Ramirez, the 21-year-old from Manchester continued his campaign in the professional ranks, following the footsteps of his father, Ricky.

Hatton dropped Denis Bartos with a left hook to the body – which was finding a home almost every time he threw it – a minute and a half into the first round. Bartos was up and fighting before the same thing happened again. [This time, he wouldn’t make the count.](https://mobile.twitter.com/DAZNBoxing/status/1588915537890881537)

Bartos, who started his career down in the flyweight ranks, has now been dealt the 6th defeat of his career, as ‘Hurricane’ Hatton moves to 9 wins and zero losses as a pro. The young lightweight was proud of his effort but is looking for more rounds to showcase what he’s been learning in the gym

> “I’m not moaning, but I didn’t get to show as much as I’d have liked to. I think even though I got the stoppage, I’m not going to get carried away with it because the challenges are going to get a lot harder.
>
> But I think if I’d have gone in the old way, it would have been a much more scrappy stoppage and, like I said in the press conference, a stoppage wouldn’t have been enough it’s got to be a thoughtful one, and I think that’s what it was. I picked my punches instead of bulldozing him down to the floor.”

With his fourth fight of 2022 now done and dusted, [Hatton will look forward to eight rounders and a required step up in opposition in the new year.](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/campbell-hatton-on-sparring-dad-ricky/)
