# Canelo Continues Verbal Assault On Golovkin – “I Hate That Motherf\*\*\*er”

Usually polite and respectful in the build up to his fights Canelo Alvarez is not holding back with his opinions on [Gennadiy Golovkin](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/golovkin-i-dont-have-any-hate-towards-canelo/).

The two fighters will square off on September 17 at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas for a third time with Golovkin yet to register a win against the Mexican.

Since rumours of the fight circulated [earlier in the year](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/golovkin-has-made-it-personal-he-is-going-to-pay-says-canelo/) Canelo has made it perfectly clear he does not like the 40-year-old.

With the fight now officially announced Canelo has had his say during the two press conferences and hasn’t let up since then. [Speaking to TMZ](https://www.tmz.com/2022/07/04/canelo-alvarez-calls-ggg-an-a-hole-who-talks-too-much-guarantees-ko/) he said:

> “He’s not honest, he’s a f\*\*\*ing a\*\*hole.”
>
> “He pretends \[to\] be a good person and be different but he’s not.”
>
> “He talks a lot of shit about me, and he say I respect him, his career and in other part he says no he’s embarrassing boxing, embarrassing for Mexican boxing. And in front of me he say no I respect his career, I respect this and this. I hate the motherfucker because of that.”

The 31-year-old is the current Undisputed Super Middleweight champion but goes into the bout in September on the back of a defeat. Canelo attempted to become a two-time Light Heavyweight champion in May but found [Dmitry Bivol](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/best-of-bivol-still-to-come-says-promoter/) a step too far. And while he may have lost there is still pride in having taken on another great challenge.

> “Nobody like to lose but I take the risk, I feel proud of myself because I take the risk. I don’t need to take that kind of risk. I like that kind of risk; kind of challenge and I feel proud of myself.”
>
> “I feel sad after the loss, but I take the risk because I want to be a great and I’m looking for greatness. When you look for greatness it’s a lot of things in front of you, hard things. I’m still looking forward and I’m in that way.”
