Carl Frampton has weighed in with his prediction for a potential clash between Tommy Fury and Jake Paul – and Frampton is backing the American to come out on top should the fight get made.
Speaking on BT Sport’s Chatterbox, Frampton revealed he feels Paul’s work ethic could prove the pivotal factor against Fury, who ‘The Jackal’ thinks has showed signs of stamina issues in recent outings.
“I keep getting into trouble talking about Tommy Fury and Jake Paul. It’s a fight that, when it was first talked about, I didn’t really care about it. But now we’ve been talking about it for that long, I really want to see what the outcome is.”
“I think Jake Paul wins the fight. I’m not trying to do Tommy Fury a disservice or dig the kid out, but he’s at a similar level to Jake Paul.”
“What I like about Jake Paul is that he looks like he trains hard, he looks like he’s got the right time round him and he lives the life by all accounts.”
“I think the problem for Tommy is that he seems to gas after four rounds, and that could be a deciding issue in the fight.”
Two weight world champion Frampton has already angered the Fury family with his comments on Tommy, so this recent prediction is unlikely to earn him a place on their Christmas card list.
Paul and Fury have already agreed terms to do battle twice, however on both occasions ‘TNT’ withdrew, once through injury and then after being refused entry into America.
‘The Problem Child’ moved to 6-0 earlier this autumn with a points win against UFC legend Anderson Silva, whilst Fury was last seen in an exhibition contest against Rolly Lambert in Dubai on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs Deji.
