Carl Froch was once again called out by Jake Paul earlier this week, and now ‘The Cobra’ has fired back in a big way and stated that he would happily ‘iron him out for free.’
Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul returns to action on Saturday when he faces Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico live on DAZN, and during fight week he claimed that Froch wants a ‘pay day’ in order to face him.
The Nottingham man has now had his say on the matter revealing that he doesn’t need any money to potentially get his hands on Paul.
He mentioned that I need a payday. He obviously doesn’t know who I am or what kind of lifestyle I’ve got or how I live, but I’m not looking for a payday. In fact, I’d happily run my fist down the back of his throat for free, I’d iron him out for free, but he won’t fight me.
“He showed his limitations against Tommy Fury, it was a bit embarrassing actually, he stepped in against a novice pro and got beat. I wish Tommy Fury did a better job than he did.
“Fury showed his level too, it’s a shame really because Tommy Fury had the chance to end all this Jake Paul nonsense for good.”
Froch also shared his thoughts on Paul comparing himself to Floyd Mayweather.
“Jake Paul’s trolling again isn’t he. To put his name in the same sentence Floyd Mayweather is ridiculous because he’s not even in the same sport as Floyd Mayweather, Jake Paul is not a boxer, let’s be serious.
“He may call himself a fighter, he may be seen in boxing gyms a lot these days, but for anyone that’s actually seen him fight, and for anybody that’s watched him stand there with his arms up trying to throw what he thinks are punches, it’s clear he’s not a real boxer.
“To mention himself as the next Floyd Mayweather in any context, he must be on the wind up. He’s trying to get a reaction.”
Before Paul can tease any potential clash with Froch, he must first get past Bourland on Saturday.
