# Carl Froch Names Boxing’s “Ultimate Showman”

Although he’s often more known for his scathing put downs, Carl Froch has recently piled some high praise in the direction of a British former fighter.

One of the best super middleweight’s of his generation, Froch can now be found breaking down fights as a pundit, or offering his two cents on the latest goings on in the boxing world on his recently established YouTube channel.

And it was on that channel, [Froch on Fighting](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoHCeFzaJx0&t=757s), where ‘The Cobra’ expressed his love for Naseem Hamed, who he has previously [described as one of his favourite fighter of all time](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/carl-froch-brit-is-favourite-fighter-ever/).

> “I just love Prince Naseem Hamed’s attitude and self belief. He was just absolutely full of self belief.
>
> For a featherweight, he was a massive puncher. He’d dance to the ring, somersault over the top rope and put on a performing masterclass.
>
> I love Naseem Hamed – the ultimate showman.”

A protege of the late Brendan Ingle, Hamed was known for his unconventional boxing antics and spectacular ring entrances which included entering the ring on a flying carpet, as well as re-enacting the video of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

However, Hamed was no gimmick. He was a southpaw with devastating punch power, and held multiple word titles at featherweight during the mid to late 1990s, and [was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2015.](https://www.ringtv.com/391789-hall-of-fame-prince-naseem-hamed/)

[Froch himself was inducted into the IBHOF last year](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/carl-froch-to-be-inducted-into-boxing-hall-of-fame/), and is regarded as a British boxing legend in his own right.

His resume at 168lbs is littered with elite fighters, including the likes of Andre Ward, Jermaine Taylor, George Groves and Mikkel Kessler.
