# Carl Froch Believes The Odds Are Wrong For Anthony Joshua-Dillian Whyte Rematch

Carl Froch believes an Anthony Joshua versus Dillian Whyte rematch is a ‘great fight’ to make for both men – so much so that he’s struggling to pick a winner.

The two domestic rivals fought in 2015 for the British title, and look set to run it back eight years on.

Speaking on his [YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bi4WLXBQm90), Froch said that a second bout is a great match-up for both, and reflected on the pairs’ first professional meeting – particularly [Joshua’s fight back after being hurt by Whyte](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/boxing/competitions/joshua-vs-whyte).

> “I can remember working for Sky that night and everyone in the studio was all shocked that AJ’s legs are wobbled … AJ then finished off Dillian Whyte. He gave him a good couple of shots, good combination. He’s a great finisher AJ, or used to be a great finisher.”

That seventh round stoppage saw Joshua on the path to unifying three of the four major belts in the division. Whyte took a step back before mounting his own lengthy championship challenge – one that fell short last year via a Tyson Fury uppercut.

Froch believes there’s a lot at stake in a rematch.

> “For Dillian Whyte it’s a great fight to get him back in mix, but for AJ people are gonna think this is a rebuilding fight. It’s a fight that AJ needs to win and he needs to look good winning.”

The former super-middleweight world champion said that the fight, for him, was currently too well-matched for a prediction. Despite early bookmakers odds having Whyte as a 2/1 underdog, Froch believes it should be split down the middle.

> “I think it’s probably, at this stage, a 50/50 fight and a pick ’em winner.”

[Promoter Eddie Hearn recently confirmed that a contract has been sent Whyte’s way for August 12.](https://wp.boxing-social.com/news/dillian-whyte-offer-to-fight-aj/)
