Carl Froch has once again been discussing some of the latest topics within boxing, and has pondered the absence of former world heavyweight title challenger Dillian Whyte.
Whyte last fought in November 2022, when he earned a majority decision victory over Jermaine Franklin, with some onlookers believing Franklin had done enough to win.
He was then scheduled to face Anthony Joshua in April, but just days out from the fight, Whyte returned ‘adverse findings’ in a VADA drugs test.
Nearly one year on, Froch has now questioned why there has been no update since then, discussing the issue on his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel.
“He’s gone quiet Dillian Whyte. He was supposed to fight Anthony Joshua in a rematch, they boxed as amateurs and boxed as pros. He clipped him, wobbled him a little bit, AJ fought back knocked him out with an upper cut.
“It was a good fight, and a learning fight for AJ. That’s when he had that tenacity about him. He used to go for it which he doesn’t do so much now since getting clipped by Ruiz.
“He was supposed to fight Whyte in a rematch, Whyte failed a drugs test and has vanished. He’s gone quiet, there’s nothing happening. I don’t know. If anybody knows where Dillian Whyte is let us know. If you’re watching reach out we’ll have a chat.”
Whyte denied taking any substance in a statement released after the VADA findings, insisting he was ‘shocked and devastated’ by the report.
