Former world title challenger Jack Catterall has signed a promotional agreement with BOXXER.
The multi-fight deal will showcase the 29-year-old Chorley super lightweight on Sky Sports with a potential rematch against Josh Taylor on the horizon.
Catterall took himself into the lion’s den six months ago when he challenged Taylor for his then undisputed title at 140lbs. Twelve rounds later, after Catterall produce the greatest performance of his career, many thought the Englishman done enough to win at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow, but the decision controversially went the way of the Scot much to the anger of many who watched.
The Jamie Moore trained southpaw could face Taylor, who has since vacated two of his world titles, later this year but in the meantime Catterall is thrilled to now be fighting on Sky Sports permanently.
In today’s press release announcement ‘El Gato’ said:
“This feels like a fresh start. I’ve kept it all under wraps until now, so I think this news will be a nice surprise for a lot of people, especially all those who have been asking me over the past weeks and months what is happening. Hopefully they’ll be just as excited as I am and together, we can all look forward to the next stages of my career with some big fights and big nights ahead.”
“I genuinely believe that those big fights can be delivered through BOXXER and Sky. It’s a huge platform for me to perform on and I am mega excited about it.”
“I fully believe in my ability to go on and capture world titles with BOXXER. I’m still only 29-years-old, so I’ve got some good years ahead of me in the sport. I want to deliver big fights for the fans and there isn’t anyone better than Ben and BOXXER to do it alongside.”
